Canyonlands NP

I see 3 or 4 accesses to Canyonlands NP area, Grand View Point, The Needles and Needles Overlook, Deadhorse SP. All seem to be 20 or so miles off US-191. Is there a clear best site?

Islands in the Sky near Dead Horse Point SP is probably the most visited section of Canyonlands. Needles would be next. While the land is contiguous, there is no way to travel from one place to the other inside the park. You must use both entrances to access the different parts of the park.

The view from Island in the Sky is similar to the view from Dead Horse Point SP, but Dead Horse Point is such an iconic image that I'd suggest visiting both areas. They are close to each other; you should have no problem doing both the same day. There are a great deal of hikes and vistas on the road for both of these, please check with the Visitor Center(s) for a list of sites.

Have a great trip!

Thanks, Guess we will do Islands in the Sky for sure and decide if we have time for Needles.
