Drove down it about 10 days ago and it was fine. The area hasn't received much, if any, rainfall since.
I passed 2WDs and RVs on the way down, should be fine if you take it slow and steady.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. With all the changes in our itinerary due to govt. shutdown, good to know that in at least one instance Mother Nature may be on our side :-)
If you're looking for things to do/see, take the road to Muley Point at the top of Moki Dugway too. I like to head out there for an hour or so and sit to eat some lunch. The view across the San Juan river to Monument Valley is spectacular. It's a 4/5 mile dirt road but is usually passable by regular car if you take it slowly. Again, I was on there 10 days ago and it was bumpy in some places but not too bad.
Valley of the Gods, at the bottom of the Dugway, is also a beautiful area to explore!
