Ideas for easter weekend

We are driving to VT for the first time over the easter weekend.

Having read all your good advice/ideas, we have decided to spend a day in the north(stowe) and one in the south(?chester).

Would these be good base to explore from and just as important, to come back to for restaurants? Certainly enjoy food and wine!!

I have read mixed reports about the accommodation in Stowe. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Basically after somthing clean and comfortable.

Chester is certainly a great base to explore southern vermont from - and to come "home" to (because it will feel like that :-)

By Easter weekend be aware that many places are starting to close for the season but there are still many great places to eat if you don't mind a short drive. Your Innkeeper is the best source of information they should have maps and brochures on all local attractions, drives and places to eat. Pack for warm or cold weather, snow or sunshine, mud or dry roads! Its that time of year when you can get any sort of weather - and all sorts in one day!
