please help !

We are flying in to NY on 20th March for 14 days. Due to high cost of hotels in NY over Easter weekend we are staying there before we fly home. We have 8 days in which we would like to tour and see a few sights. Now this is where I need the help! We were going to Niagara but looking at the maid of the mist opening and other attractions these all seem to open in mid May,so that idea was knocked on the head. Then we thought of Washington but as we are spending 5 days in NY we did not want more city! So... somebody suggested going north , having read a variety of posts we would be arriving at the end of winter and it may be more mud than snow? I have read the rough guide cover to cover but have found out very little info about the things available at this time of ya=ear.

We are a family of 4 (2 teens who love ski-ing )and a mum and dad who love scenery and USA!!

Any help gratefully rec.

That is an excellent time to visit Vermont for skiing or other winter activities. Mud season is not until May.

You probably will find good to excellent ski conditions in places like Killington, Okemo, Sugarbush, Stowe, etc., though if it's an unusually warm March, it can't be guaranteed.

Late March this year was phenomenal for skiing. In fact we had no real snow to speak of until mid february and then got blitzed!!!. But it all depends on Mother nature....I'm feeling quietly confident about this season though...think snow!

March can be hit or miss, but as mentioned most of the largest ski places will have skiable conditions. Temps are usually in the 30s-40s. It can be 15 deg and wintery, or 50 deg...

Burlington and Stowe are 2 towns that might be worth researching. Both have plenty to keep you occupied snow or no snow.
