Kids in Burlington?

Kids in Burlington?

We are driving from NYC to Burlington to meet with my family who are driving down from Ottawa, Canada. They have 2 kids, 3 and 18 months -- and we are meeting the first week of January.

We've picked Burlington as it is about halfway, but have no idea what to do in the way of activities -- 2 young kids and 4 adults in Burlington in the dead of winter -- help!! Any ideas would be appreciated. And if you have other ideas aside from Burlington (as long as they are roughly halfway between NYC and Ottawa), please feel free to suggest!!

Vermont Teddy Bear Factory in Shelburne. You can take a tour and visit the shop.

Echo Center on the waterfront in Burlington. It's a nice, small, hands-on science museum/aquarium.

Pizza Putt - indoor mini-golf, laser tag, etc. Pizza too ;)

You might want to check out the Echo Center down at the lake. It's kind of an aquarium/nature center that at least the 3 yr old might enjoy (and the rest of you)!

Walking around Church St. and stopping into various stores, bars (all are kid-friendly), restaurants, the little fire-house art gallery next to city hall, etc... is always fun and can be tailored to everyone's mood.

The Flynn theater has some excellent performing arts stuff periodically - though most wouldn't be of interest to the kids. If you're there on 12/31, the First Night activities are bustling and varied, with lots of stuff for kids.

Enjoy! Chris

There's also some local ice rinks that offer public skating hours:

The January schedules aren't posted for either arena, but they will be at these links as January gets closer.
