You may want to check trip advisor for small lodges in the Bromley-Peru-Londonderry area or even in the Mount Snow area. Both are each about a 30-45 minute drive from Stratton and have more Inns and Lodges that are less upscale than you might find at Stratton and hence more economical, plus offer the advantage of giving you an additional mountain to ski.

Is the Snow Lake Lodge at Mount Snow convenient to Stratton?

Snow Lake Lodge is at the base of Mount Snow and just off Rt 100.

To get to Stratton you can take Rt 100 north (a) to Rt 30 and then west to the Stratton access road, or (b) take the back road to Stratton by turning left a few miles north of Mt Snow onto the Stratton-Arlington Road to the Stratton Town Hall, then taking a right and following the signs to the ski area. Depending on weather/road conditions figure 45 minutes the back way.
