July 4th festivities on Lake Champlain?

We will be completing a week's stay in Warren on the morning of July 4th - We are curious about possible fireworks or other activities that would keep us in Vermont, or whether we should begin our return trip west into New York.

Hmm...I assume you are sticking around for the Warren 4th of July Parade?

If not and you want to start heading west, Bristol, to the west, has a fantastic 4th of July parade, as well as the outhouse races and a nice festival on the town green.

www.midvermont.com/area_info/bristol.shtml scroll down to see info on the 4th.

As for fireworks, I believe the Basin Harbor Club has them on the 4th.

The following link has some good info on Vermont 4th celebrations.

Have fun!

The city of Burlington's fireworks are on the 3rd of July, overlooking Burlington harbor.

Colchester has its fireworks overlooking Malletts Bay on the 4th of July.

Colchester also has a July 4th Parade @ 11:00 am

I'm sure many towns have a parade.

Even Warren http://www.warren4thofjuly.com/

Warren's 4th of July parade is among the most famous and entertaining in the entire state of Vermont.

Bristol's is also great, as others have mentioned.

Colchester's? Not so interesting by comparison, but still quite fun and local.

Thanks for all your information and links. It is good to know that the fireworks in Burlington are on the 3rd! How long would it take us to drive from Warren to Burlington and where should we go to watch them? Is there a boat ride on the lake with fireworks viewing? We won't feel like we are missing them on the 4th if we can enjoy them on the 3rd!

NOt sure about boats, but check the websites for the Spirit of Ethan Allen and the Northern Lights. If you are going to drive, the best thing to do would be to park at UVM (when you come off the interstate and head toward Burlington, you'll see the big parking lot on your right) and take a shuttle downtown. Unless you get into Burlington really early, you'll have a lot of trouble finding somewhere to park.

The drive from Warren to Burlington is about 45 to 50 minutes...
