Route 100 Simon Pearce/Woodstock

Hi , I am staying in Chester from 3rd to 10 th Oct and and we are trying to plan a day trip up route 100, eventually ending up at the Simon Pearce restaurant for dinner, (it will be the eve of our wedding) any suggestions on where to stop off on route? , We thinking of stopping off in Woodstock for lunch but other than that I would love suggestions on what to see./do. Or would we be better going to Simon Pearce for Lunch and stop back off at Woodstock for dinner ?

Thanks

Alison

Where ever you decide to have dinner you should book now. Availability may effect your plans. I don't think you have to book for lunch at SP but the restaurant does get very busy during fall evenings.

Woodstock is very close to SP so unless you had plans to do something there for the day (shopping would take a few hours most) and bearing in mind American portion sizes - you may not be hungry till later. There are loads of activities in the area though and you can find out whats happening on the woodstock website www.woodstockvt.com As it is the evening before you wedding you may want to consider eating nearer to Chester. If you drive from Woodstock down the 106 at perkinsville, on route to Chester you pass The Inn At Weathersfield www.weathersfieldinn.com - they have a phenomenal reputation for quality and imaginative menu using the finest local produce. Its a place we recommend for 'special" dinners and have never had a guest disappointed with our suggestion.

Jonsgirl,

Do as has been suggesdteds Simon Pearce for lunch and then Innat Weathersfield for dinner. The chef Jason is a wonderful creative cook and the dining area is very romantic. If you are willing to spend the whole day in the Woodstock area, then Pane e Salute is a fantastic Italian resturant that got a great write up in the Boston Globe on May 31st this year.

What ever come hungry!
