Rayburn Cafeteria

Does anyone know whether the Rayburn cafeteria is open to the public for lunch when Congress is in session? I have seen a description that it is open to the public from 7:30AM - 2:30PM Mon thru Friday, and elsewhere that it is restricted to Congressional staff between 11:45AM and 1:15PM. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Yes, the cafeteria in Rayburn is open to the public during the day. Check out the following website, which has hours of operation of all House food service facilities and menus for eachL

go.compass-usa.com/house/content/menus.asp

I recommend you go to the Longworth Cafeteria instead of Rayburn, as it is more of a food court type environment and has more choices. Although look at the website, as the menus may help dictate which cafeteria you chose.

Note: The only eatery on the list that is NOT available to the public is the Member's Dining Room. Also, the Capitol Market is not accessible without an appointment in the capitol, as it located beyond security that you can only pass through with a staff escort.

Definitely check out Longworth cafeteria. I believe they stop serving lunch around 2ish. They have different lines for staffers vs. visitors.
