Coasttocoast,

What is your budget range (i.e. in the $20s for entrees, etc.)?

For a pub, I would try Old Ebbitts Grill (675 15th St. NW) or Capitol City Brewing Company. For seafood, I would recommend Sea Catch in Georgetown (1054 31st St NW) or Legal Sea Foods (704 7th St. NW). For steak, Smith & Wollensky is always a good choice, however, I would recommend Capital Grille (601 Pennsylvania Ave. NW) or the District Chophouse in Chinatown (509 7th St NW).

Also check out Commonwealth Gastropub for a real English pub-like experience:

i'd go as far as $40 for a really nice meal and atmosphere. rest of our meals will probably be free breakfast at the hotel or a local chain around the hotel.

In that range, check out Oceanaire as another seafood option.

Check out Bardeo in Cleveland Park - it's the slightly more casual version of its neighbor, Ardeo. They have a great menu - should fit the bill on steak or seafood well within your budget (Steak frites for $13). A little more hip than a pub atmosphere, with a wine-centric focus.

I should clarify that Bardeo would work for an early dinner, but not a lunch.
