Memorial Day in DC

Thinking of visiting around Memorial Day weekend-how is the weather? Anyone have recommendations of special events-advantages/disadvantages of the week/holiday weekend?

Can't predict the weather 5+ months in advance, sorry. :) It could be sunny and in the 70's or it could be cool and rainy.

Probably the biggest event is Rolling Thunder. There is also a Memorial Day concert at the west front of the Capitol, you can check back closer to the holiday for details on that if you're interested.

Rolling Thunder attracts tens of thousands of motorcyclists, but many stay out in the suburbs, so room rates can be pretty reasonable that weekend in the city.

It's definitely a bit more hectic than other weekends in the spring, due both to Rolling Thunder and families doing a 3-day weekend. If you have any plans on driving, Rolling Thunder is a big nuisance - all sorts of closures at different points.

Weather that time of year is usually very nice, generally speaking...typically warm, not too humid yet.
