Nationals/Braves game this Thursday

We are headed to the game this Thursday and are interested in knowing what sections of the ballpark will be in the shade for the 12:35 game. We are looking for the least expensive tickets, but in the shade since it will be another scorcher that day. We have been to the website, but can't tell orientation of the park from the site. Many thanks!

Home plate is kind of located in the south west corner of the ball park, with center outfield in the northeast part of the stadium. At 12:35, the sun will be high in the sky, but throughout the afternoon, the sun will moved towards left field.

Best guess for seats in the shade would be in the Left Field Mezzanine section, the back rows in the Left Field Corner section and Left Field Baseline section, and sections 401 to 409 in the upper deck.

What is the cheapest way to get tickets (going mid August)? I know if you wait too long you risk falling on a Strasburg day and those sell out, right? (or is it so yesterday already?)

Strasburg is pitching tomorrow (Tues) so you don't have to worry about getting a $5 seat and head to the left field corner as mcvin27 recommends.

Strasburg is still generating sales even at other team's parks, and it will probably continue. The cheapest tickets are the $5 ones that go on sales approximately 2 to 2.5 hours before the game. Otherwise, the best ways to get advance tickets are through the Nationals website or on StubHub.
