My family and I went to Mt. Vernon last summer via Metro. We took the yellow line to the end at Huntington. At the Huntington Metro Station we jumped on a bus that took us directly to Mt. Vernon, then takes you back to Huntington. The bus cost a dollar each way. Have some dollar bills with you. We did Arlington Cemetary in the early morning, then went to Mt. Vernon, then stopped at Old Town Alexandria for dinner. You can easily spend the whole day at Mt. Vernon. Check out the Metro website for specifics and maps.

Is that bus you catch to Mt Vernon called the Fairfax Connector? If so, or if not, where do you catch the bus?

Thanks
