Hotels RIGHT on the Metro Line?

Planning a trip for this summer, and want to stay at a hotel out of downtown to save money, but would really like something that is RIGHT on the Metro line, rather than having to walk a few blocks. Any suggestions

You will pay for this privilege. A few off the top of my head:

Courtyard Marriott Convention Center is .5 blocks away

Ritz Carlton at Pentagon City

Crystal City Marriott (Not Crystal Gateway Marriott)

Hyatt in Ballston is .5 blocks away

Washington Wardman Marriott.

Hotel Monaco in DC across the street from Metro

I think you are limiting yourself. You could find plenty of great hotels within 2-4 block of a metro. But each to their own.

The Hilton in Arlington (on fairfax) is right at the ballston-mu stop.

"I think you are limiting yourself. You could find plenty of great hotels within 2-4 block of a metro. But each to their own." - agreeing with lam here - if you plan to do any of the museums / the mall, walking is pretty much unavoidable.

When you say right on the Metro line, do you mean connected to the Metro station via indoor passage? Would a hotel right across the street count? One block away?

Put any address of any hotel in any online map search and you can see where it is!

Across the street is fine. I am not totally stuck on being right on the metro - just think it would be nice. I just know we will do tons of walking all day and at the end of the day when you are tired the last thing you want is to have to walk a ways after riding the train home.

Save that money by using a site like Hotwire to get your hotel. I recently stayed in a four star one block from Capitol for $83 a night.

There are a number of hotels in Crystal City that are within a block or so of the Metro station. They are mentioned quite often here. You can see them on this map:

stationmasters.com/System_Map/…crystalc.html

There is a Residence Inn one block away from the Pentagon City Metro Station, in addition to that Ritz Carlton mentioned above.

There is another bunch of hotels near the King Street Metro Station further down, with an Embassy Suites across the street from the Metro.
