Dupont Circle- Family Friendly Restaurants

We're staying at the Hotel Palomar and are looking for good family-friendly restaurant suggestions for breakfast and dinner. Thanks.

There are places for a quick, simple breakfast near your hotel like Soho Coffee and Tea or the Bagels, Etc right across the street. For a sit-down breakfast, the Luna Grill just south of the circle would work. Or walk over to Trio at 17the and Q Streets NW. Kramer Books is not far, but I don't know if that is family-friendly or not. (Not sure what that means when it comes to breakfast.)

For pizza check out Pizza Paradiso about 2 blocks from your hotel (toward Dupont). Other places you might look into include Shake Shack, Nando Peri Peri (wonderful chicken), Maddy's for hamburgers and bar food (since its a bar), and Zorba's for Greek food (order at the counter). There is also, of course, just about any chain place you can think of within an easy walk (Subway, Potbelly, etc...).

Actually there aren't a lot of national chain places near Dupont Circle. Subway and Potbelly are there along with Panera and Cosi. But no Burger King, Wendy's or Hardee's. Still several hamburger places and salad places, if you are looking to sit down and be waited on.

My last time at Pizza Paradiso was not good. Things just haven't been as nice since they moved to their new location. Too noisy, too crowded and the pizza was dry and tasteless. Zorba's has pizza though I am not sure of its tastiness.

Pizzeria Paradiso has always been dry and tasteless, but at least they have a good beer selection. Nando's Peri Peri is some seriously delicious chicken. Another place to try is Shophouse.

Buca di Beppo may be a good option for dinner. It's less than a mile from the Palomar.
