After the POV where to go for dinner

Hi - my daughter (19) and I will be in DC for a weekend in October. Would like to start out with drinks at rooftop bar POV then go to dinner - either Fri or Sat night - is there somewhere within walking distance that would be nice - we're from Boston so we expect a prices in the 25-35 entree - We are staying at the Helix but have no problem walking or taking the Metro. Or should we plan on heavy apps/drinks then walk Monuments after on Friday and do dinner on Saturday. Thanks

Well, the POV is right near the White House and Gallery Place/Chinatown. There are several good to excellent restaurants in that area. Take a look at:

Zaytinya (http://www.zaytinya.com/) or Jaleo (http://www.jaleo.com/) or really any of Jose Andres restaurants.

Matchbox (http://www.matchboxchinatown.com/)

Old Ebbit Grill (http://www.ebbitt.com/)

Bobby Vans New York Avenue Grill (www.bobbyvans.com)

Poste (http://www.postebrasserie.com/)

Of course, there are plenty of other restaurants, but these are some of my favorite.

Can a 19-year old go to POV? Some places like that have a 21-year old minimum.

There is the J&G Steakhouse right downstairs. http://jgsteakhousedc.com/

dctravler thanks for the suggestions all look amazing especially Zaytinya - and very reasonably priced.

Darrell6t - I just looked it up after 5:00 must be 21 - bummer - any other suggestions for a drink/apps with a view? People watching is always fun so if not a view then atleast somewhere with a diverse crowd.

Thanks

The place around the corner connected with the Willard has an outdoor area that should be nice if the weather cooperates. I am guessing it is part of Cafe Du Parc, but someone else probably knows for sure. I have never been there to eat or drink.

My daughter that age loves Zatinya and Graffiato's. But she always has to stop into Urban Outfitters when she is in the neighborhood.

I can't recall any restaurant with a view like POVs in DC. The Washington Post did put together a list of rooftop bars a few years ago. Here is the link:

I can't say that I have been to many of these, but one might meet your needs.
