Library of Congress - public tour

We will be there the last week of March. Would you advise stopping at the LoC early in the day in order to guarantee getting on the 3:30 public tour? Do these tours have a limit on the number of people in the tour? What time in the morning do the tickets become available? Thanks for the help!

They run multiple tours at one time. groups are limited. think we had 20 people.

Just walked in. Rest of info is probably on the LOC website.

Even without the tour it is very easy to spend a couple of jaw-dropping hours just walking around by yourselves. There are extremely good computer touch screens that will focus in on and explain all the details. There are also usually very helpful volunteers at the info desk.

Since you'll be here at peak tourist season - allow 1/2 hour to enter through security.

I've never need to make reservations when taking a tour there. You may have to wait an hour but no more. Enjoy, it's a lovely building inside and out(don't miss the fountains outside).
