Washington DC: Restaurant near air and space

We're heading to Washington DC next week. Wondering if anyone knows of a reasonable priced restaurant that you can walk to from Air and Space museum?

While definitions of "reasonable price" vary, the cafeteria at the Native American History museum next door to A&S offers a neat selection of food. It costs more than your typical cafeteria food, but is tasty. The cafe directly across the mall at the National Gallery of Art is also popular.

Otherwise the areas near A&S is a bit of a dining wasteland. There are a few chain restaurants in the blocks to the south (e.g. Subway, Le Madeline), as well as restaurants in the Holiday Inn, but none are terribly notable or worth going out of your way for. If it were me I'd consider a short cab ride (<$10) up to Penn Quarter, for one of the many restaurants you'll see discussed here. On a nice day you can even walk to Penn Quarter from A&S in about 20-30 minutes.

You can also take Metro from L'Enfant Plaza to the Archives station to get to the Penn Quarter. Both the green and yellow lines would get you there

If you're talking lunchtime, there are usually a bunch of food trucks on 7th St. just south of Independence. If the weather is decent, that might be a good option.

Someone mentioned getting the metro at the L'Enfant station. But there is a great food court right there at the station with many options, so no need to go further unless you want to.

The L'Enfant metro station entrance that is closest to the Air & Space is different from the entrance with the food court next to it -- that's in L'Enfant Plaza itself. I'd say it adds about 5 minutes walking, but can be a bit tricky to find if you don't have good walking directions. And at that point you're still in a food court, with primarily chain fast food choices.
