Parking for part of a day while sightseeing?

Will be spending part of a day trying to hit the highlights of DC after a trip to Virginia. Flying out of Reagan in the evening, and will have a rental car. Is it easy to find parking (structure?) near the memorials, etc., then we could walk around? Or what would you experts recommend? Thanks!

Depending on time of day, I don't think finding a space is that big a deal

Finding a space might not be "that big a deal" - but finding a legal space, that allows more than 2 hours and doesn't get your car towed away at 4:31 p.m. if you're in a rush hour zone - is difficult on a weekday. Weekends are less restrictive. There have been several threads about parking garages - Union Station & Reagan building.

Enter "Ohio Drive" into your GPS. There is a long stretch of parking that starts towards the Lincoln Memorial and down along some athletic fields. If there are no spots there, there are a few parking lots a further down squeezed in between the bridges. There you'll be a fairly short walk from the George Mason Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. A slightly longer walk to the FDR/MLK memorial and a little bit further from the main part of the Mall itself.

There is parking along Constitution and Independence but watch out for rush hour restrictions.

The FDR memorial IS in the Ohio drive. Depending on where you fond a spot you cam be next to it and farter away from the Jeff. Memorial, or vice vrsa.
