alternative hotel parking suggestions

I am thinking about staying at the grand Hyatt...parking is $36 a day...but I am meeting someone so it is going to cost us $72 a day...are there alternative parking decks or lots near there that would be cheaper? thanks for any help

The $36 rate is not for parking at Grand Hyatt itself but rather at the nearby Marriott Metro Center. Grand Hyatt's own parking cost $45 for anything more than 8 hours.

I just stumbled across the following parking rate sheet at the CityCenter that is quoting $22 for overnight parking. I have never actually parked there and cannot verify its accuracy. If it is true, than it may be the lowest overnight parking option in downtown DC. They only have 500 spaces which can be taken up in no time. (Meaning it may be full when you get there)

And do you need to drive to meet someone? taking public transportation and/or a taxi might be cheaper than reparking the car. (welcome to dc!) :)

The Marriott Metro Center is just across the street from Grand Hyatt.

Yesterday, I stumbled across a parking rate sheet from the new CityCenter just next block over that seems to have overnight parking for $21. I have never heard of that before and cannot verify its accuracy. May be you can call them or check it out when you are here. If the rate quoted is accurate, it may be the lowest overnight parking option in downtown DC.

You can take a look at the following link: (There is a hyperlink at the white banner in the middle of the page for parking info.)

How about the Reagan Bldg on 14th just south of Pennsylvania, also for $22?

When you say meeting someone, do you mean you have to move your car and then come back, or that the two of you will have cars to park and you are not going to move them?

$22 only get you up to 10 hours at the Reagan Building. It costs $35 per 24 hours. (It was only recently that they allow overnight parking)

If you click on the link I provided in Post #4 above, there is another link that gets you to a map. It shows there is a parking entrance near H Street and 11 Street.

The official address of the Grand Hyatt is at H Street and 10 Street.
