Best place for flatwater kayaking?

Hi everyone, we are planning a two day trip to WV and trying to find a nice place for flatwater kayaking. The location doesn't meter much. Ideally, somewhere around mountains and some hiking trails. We would need to rent kayaks, so some kind of rental shop should be there as well. Thanks very much!

Fayetteville. Several outfitters. These two are probably the largest and most activities offered. Other things would be biking and zip lines. Looks like Adventures on the Gorge combines rock climbing with lake kayak tour. Cabins on site and number of motels out on RT 19. Great food near by. Dirty Ernie's Rib Pit, Pie's and Pints, etc.........Great one stop area for two day trip.

From PA...... Down I 79 to RT 19. RT 19 to Fayetteville.

Outside of Charleston in St Alban's area. Coal River Group has mapped 80 miles of Coal River for kayaking. Broken up into short sections of a few miles to longer sections in the 10-14 miles range. Some stretches are all flat water while others are broken up with shallow natural fast water shoals and man made jetties to redirect water and speed up current(flushes sediment down stream)

Problem with river float trips is the need for two vehicles unless you have them shuttle you.

You might want to check out Bluestone Lake near Hinton, WV. I know they rent boats, but I'm not sure about kayaks. It's an absolutely gorgeous area, though. Bluestone State Park has cabins for rent and Pipestem Resort State Park is close by.
