Bachelorette party Labor Day weekend

Bachelorette party Labor Day weekend

I'm in the beginning stages of planning a bachelorette party for my friend. Her initial ideas of what she'd like to do are some sort of wine/beer tasting and an overnight stay. The problem I am running into is everywhere has a 2-3 night minimum for Labor Day weekend! We live about 30 west of Milwaukee and would like to keep it no further than 2 hours from home. Any fabulous ideas? :)

I don't know what to tell you about the minimum stays. Maybe the bigger cities only. Door County does all the time for most places.

this is an excllent location http://www.newglarusbrewing.com/ it's newer and gorgeous, atop a hill

www.swisstown.com great authentic swiss dining in town!

It's a lovely area why not try here:

1 hr. 15 min. approx. from your 30 min. west of Milwaukee.

It's not bustling though for night life so if you're looking more for that afterward perhaps elsewhere.

I think Lake Geneva might be a good destination and you could just stay outside of town if you have a problem with the 2-3 night minimum (?) with the holiday weekend.

nearer to you perhaps at the Delafield Brewhaus for tasting. I don't know about the lodging options for the guests that do/don't ask for minimum that weekend but you can try. Maybe try Country Pride Inn.

Delafield is great for shopping before the bachelorette party perhaps too!

What about Milwaukee? I believe Labor Day week end is actually kind of slow in Milwaukee, so hotel prices may be comparatively reasonable. There are of course several breweries to visit and taste and you could do a river boat brewery cruise and visit the Great Lakes Distillery. There are great restaurants here and of course the Water Street nightlife area would be great for a bachelorette party.

Thanks for the ideas! I'm liking the new glarus idea, and wollersheim winery also! So any thoughts on lodging if we went to wollersheim winery? Doesn't really look like there's much around there in terms of what to so the rest of the day/evening?? Any ideas if we went to the winery Sunday during tithe day and drove somewhere else either on the way back toward milwaukee or somewhere not too much further west to continue our weekend? Spa, group lodging/resort or condos?? Shopping?? Any thoughts?

You could visit Madison. The Taste of Madison happens over Labor Day weekend. http://www.tasteofmadison.com/

It's a lot of fun with food, beer and music. You shouldn't have a hard time finding lodging and State Street is always a fun place to hang out for nightlife.

I was going to suggest Madison too, but I thought it was a football weekend. I checked the schedule and the Badgers are not playing at home, so Madison might be a possibility. The only other issue may be students moving in. I don't know if that impacts hotels.
