I am not sure what there is to do in Lake Geneva during the winter outside of skiing (if we have snow).
Milwaukee offers museums and even a short walk along Lake Michigan is great in the winter. If the weather is too bad the activists can at least walk around Mayfair Mall. Milwaukee also has a nice casino. If you stay downtown you can walk to restaurants and night life and the partiers won't have to worry about driving.
Any suggestions for where to stay in Milwaukee? Probably in the $100-140 price range.
There are several good downtown options, prices vary based on how busy things are.
The Residence Inn Marriott is, I believe, all suites, so you would get a little extra room and it is conveniently located.
The Pfister is probably the premier hotel downtown. The Hotel Metro is near the Pfister and also very nice. The Wyndham is closest to the Water Street nightclub area.
If you need to go downscale from there I have two options. The Best Western Inn Towne is one. And Hampton Inn just purchased on old Howard Johnson hotel and did some renovating, which I believe is completed now. Either one of those would be good on a budget.
If you are interested in sports we have the Milwaukee Bucks and Marquette University playing basketball and if neither one of those is in town the Admirals (minor league hockey) or the Wave (indoor soccer) should be home. There is something at the Bradley Center downtown almost every night in winter.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll visit the web sites.
If I have any questions as I continue planning, I'll be sure to ask.
