Character Dining Idea - what do you think?

OK... I think I've got it sorted, especially now that I know what the park hours will be. I was planning on a character dining experience for brekky & dinner. Let me know what you think or if I should consider something else... coz I'm gonna reserve next week!!

Friday 14th Sept... we'll be at DCA so I'm thinking Ariel's Grotto for dinner before the 9pm World of Colour. Will I need to FastPass this do you think??

Tuesday 18th Sept... Minnie & Friends breakfast. Now because I have a 3-day park hopper my Magic Morning will be on this day. Will I be able to go to breakfast at the Plaza Inn and then use my Magic Morning to enter DL after breakfast at 8am?? Or should I keep them seperate... ie do the character brekky on Monday 17th and then the Magic Morning on Tuesday 18th?

Any thoughts / suggestions on the best way to tackle this???

Hi Feliss74,

Just saw your post re the park hours and got very excited as I have been hanging out for these to be released so I can get planning!

We are there around the same time as you - 14 September. Do you think the times now showing for the last week of August are the new park hours that will apply in September?

Or did you find September info somewhere?

Thanks!

Well that's a bugger... thanks for letting me know jhankins89, that would have been a waste!! Back to the drawing board for that one!

Natz... we're on the same page :) Yeah, I figured that the times showing in the schedule now for August would be the same for mid September... that's what I figure anyway!! I haven't found some secret September information... I'm HANGING OUT for them to release it though so I can continue planning!

Feliss74,

I don't think you can apply the schedule for August to September. I called Disney Dining to make a breakfast reservation on 13th of September, and the lady told me that Disneyland Park would open at 10AM that day.

The schedule for August says 9AM for Thursdays.

Regular hours for Disneyland Park for weekdays in Sept are usually 10am till 8pm M-Thurs and 8am till 12pm Fri,Sat,Sun.

>>>"Will I be able to go to breakfast at the Plaza Inn and then use my Magic Morning to enter DL after breakfast at 8am?? ">>>

Disneyland Park hours will likely be starting at 10am on a Tues in Sept, so early morning entry hours would be at 9am. You may want to contact Disney Dining though, they may offer Charater Breakfasts for before Magic Morning Hours start.

Things have changed for Ariels Grotto Charater dining. They no longer offer the World of Color Dining package. However, they now offer Charater Meal dining for breakfast, lunch AND Dinner.

You would need some sort of Fastpass to get into the actual viewing area for World of Color.

>>"The schedule for August says 9AM for Thursdays">>

That would only be the last week of August the rest of August has Disneyland opening at 8am.

Schedules for the Disneyland Calendar usually show up on thier website about 6 weeks out. However, as said when booking a Charater meal ect ahead of time, they do know the hours to schedule things for a little farther out.

Thanks for the update happytotrip! Back to the itinerary for me.

Natz... I think we're probably better off just waiting for the Sept schedule to be released!! I know it's gonna be tough :) but at least that way we'll know EXACTLY what's going on at the parks!!

Hi Just wanted to let you know that if you book an early breakfast before park opens you do not need to use your early morning pass to get into the park. Yes to get a good viewing of world of colors to be able to see everything you will need a fast pass and get there early for a good spot

acef

Pretty sure from the OP orginal post that they wanted to use thier Magic Morning on the Tues which was the only day available to them, and wanted to go in early before Magic Morning time for an early breakfast.

But your right no need to use a Magic Morning for breakfast inside the Park, you can have a preffered seating arrangement and be on a list at Disneyland Parks Turnstiles where you will be escorted to the Charater Meal with a valid Disneyland Ticket and without using your Magic Morning. However, if you want to then go into the Park to ride rides during Magic Morning hour you would have to use your Magic Morning.
