Disneyland & Beach Oct 13 w rental car, which quiet beach?

After a few days at Disneyland we want to take the kids (5&7) to the beach for a quiet day! Which beach would be best? We will have a rental car. I understand that most beaches probably aren't quiet in California, but I don't think I want Santa Monica pier type place. We just want to play in the sun and water and hang out. Don't need shopping or restaurants. Thanks.

Do you mean specifically on Oct 13?

Maybe Crystal Cove State Beach, it is as quiet as any beach as you'll find but you have to hike down cliffs to get to the beach.

If you mean during the week, almost any beach will be quiet, in which case I'd go to the beach in Balboa someplace or maybe Huntington Beach.

I actually meant the year 2013! But it will probably be Saturday October 12th, 2013!

Bolsa Chico St. Beach near Huntington Beach. Most of Huntington State Beach is away from the busier city beach, which really isn't as busy as Santa Monica

For that age I'd definitely look into Pirates Cove:

Afterwards take them for a ride on the ferry.

If you want quiet...... don't go on a Saturday.

You are right, most beaches are not quiet, especially on a Saturday. I would go to Crystal Cove which is probably the quietest of the beaches. You park at the Los Trancos parking lot. If you do not want to do the walk, which is a bit steep, there is a shuttle from the parking lot for $1 each adult, kids under 12 free. There are two places to eat. One is The Beachcomber, a sit down casual restaurant right on the sand. If you spend at least $15 they validate your parking ($15). At the top of the cliff is Ruby's Shake Shack, order and get a table outside. You take the stairs up and down, not too bad of a walk. Very cute historic area to look at and there are beach cottages to rent, but close to impossible to reserve!
