Fireworks/ light show/ events at Disney land?

Hello

I am just some advice on the bext days to go to Disneyland. We were looking at staying monday through thursday night in April. Do they have all the same stuff such as fireworks and light shows on weeknights or are weekends filled with more entertainment?

Also not sure if anyone would know if there is a hire car company at Disneyland?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

There is only nighttime entertainment on weekends in low season. Depends on your dates whether it will be high season because of Easter or Spring break. If its high season, there should be fireworks etc every night and the hours will be longer.

I'm sure there are a few car hire companies that have rental locations withing walking distance of Disneyland. Not sure which ones, but just have a look on their websites at an Anaheim location. Im pretty sure both Dollar and Hertz have ones pretty close.

It's not exactly what you asked about, but wanted to let you know that we found that the best way to get a good viewing spot for Fantasmic was to wait until the second show of the evening. Get to the area a bit before it's done and then when it's over and people are getting up (everyone pretty much sits on the ground in enclosed areas) go and get your spot! It's helpful to bring a blanket, otherwise if anyone in your group gets up, someone will come and sit in their spot. It get pretty crowded:) For World of Color if you can get a spot on the bridge it's really the best place to view it. There are other good viewing places (some with a dinner purchase....the only ones we have found to be worth it are the more expensive restaurants. The area for those is good. But the sack lunch with viewing is really not worth t at all...in fact it was the worst area we have ever watched the show from.) Both of the shows are absolutely phenomenal!!! Truly a highlight of the day....The creative, amazing minds at Disney are really awe inspiring!!! Have a fantastic time!!!!!!

That's the week after Easter, so I'd say that you would have long hours and nighttime shows on every night of the week. It will probably be very busy, but we were there in August for our first trip and absolutely loved being there from 7am till midnight. There's so much going on. You've got 5 days, so should have time to see everything and really enjoy it.

Easter Sunday falls on a different date in March and April each year. In 2014 Easter Sunday was April 20th. The full week before Easter Sunday is a busy time as most Schools will take thier Spring Break around that time with some taking the full week after that.

This year, the week after Easter Sunday were long hours of 8am till 12pm with a nightly Fireworks, Fantasmic and World of Color show as Disneyland expected larger crowds for that time. And those longer hours as suggested should be expected for the week before and after Easter Sunday as well for 2015, even though they will fall on a little different date than this year.

Can you clarify what you mean by light show? Do you have the name of the show you are asking about? There is no light show in Disneyland Resort. There is a water show that has images from Disney movies projected onto water screens. That does make use of colored lights as well, but it is not called a light show. The name of that is World of Color.

The Alamo Car Rental in Downtown Disney is located in an office behind the AMC Theater (which is across from the ESPN Zone). It is pretty close to Disneyland Hotel and reviews say it is on the walk to Paradise Pier Hotel but a little hard to locate it because there is no sign directing Disneyland Resort guests to the office. They park some of their cars at the Grand Californian parking lot. If you are staying at the Disneyland Hotel or the Paradise Pier this might be a convenient location for you.

Alamo has a second location on Katella on the outside of Disneyland Resort's southern border, near the Alpine Inn, which is more convenient if not staying inside Disneyland Resort. I believe Hertz has their location in the Anaheim Marriot. They will most likely be able to pick you up at your hotel to do the check out for the car. Not sure if Alamo does so.

Fantasmic does not involve a light show, but has a little bit of fireworks at the end. It takes place on the Rivers of America in Disneyland Park and is the story of Mickey's dream featuring projected images ontowater screens. It uses the big boats, the rafts, and actors. When Mickey's dream turns into a nightmare, created by a spell from the evil queen/witch from Snow White, a huge dragon rises up and breathes fire onto the water, setting it ablaze. Mickey quickly realizes, though, he has the power to control his own dream. He slays the dragon and a celebration of joy happens as his dream turns once back into happy thoughts.

World of Color is presented in Disney California Adventure. No actors in this show. No boats or pryrotechnics. Water screens with projections and colorful lights.
