Anaheim is much closer to your hotel than Fullerton. Doesn't look like Howard Johnson provides shuttle service to/from Amtrak station but you can take ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) on route R15 and that should take you from that area to Disneyland entrance, and then walk to your hotel.
Anaheim is closer to your hotel than Fullerton. Just take a taxi for that portion of your transfer. It will take 5 minutes and cost about $12. Compared to waiting for a bus that will take 30 minutes and save you only $6.
BTW, for trains into L.A. Metrolinktrains.com trains have lower fares than Amtrak.com trains and when you travel on Metrolink, you can re-use the train ticket on the metro rail in Los Angeles.
I would suggest the Taxi option as being the best from you Hotel to the Train Station.
The Art Shuttle service would have other stops that runs from the Anaheim Train station, and you will have to deal with luggage, ect on a bigger bus, and the cost is likely to be about the same with 4 people as the Anahiem Train Station is only about a 2 miles from Disneyland.
You could also use something like the Lux Bus from Anaheim to LA area Hotel which may also be a good option, but somewhat more expensive than train transport.Edited: 26 August 2014, 20:49
