Avalon in April

Does anyone know of what kinds of things you can do in Avalon in April? I know it's still rather cold, but it's for a birthday get-away. I heard about Flying Fish cruise, but I don't know if that's available in April. I figure my sitting on the beach will be limited because of the weather. We're booking a room, so we have some time to do cool things. Any ideas would be appreciated.

As long as its not raining, there's a fair number of fun things to do in Avalon:

I would recommend renting golf carts - its a great way to get around the island and you can tour it in about 2 hours.

Fun time. My husband and I absolutely enjoyed this...scooting around and having a great time. There are several places where you just walk up and rent them.

Go to the historic Avalan casino and take in a movie.

there is now a movie theater there.

Take The Inland Motor Tour -

This 28-mile narrated excursion takes you to the Airport-in-the-Sky and Nature Center ~ and beyond, Catalina's Pacific side. It's the only way to visit El Rancho Escondido, where you'll be treated to an Arabian horse demonstration, refreshments, and time to explore the trophy room of the prize-winning Wrigley Arabians and browse through the Hidden Ranch Store.. Plus, there's a good chance to see buffalo on this tour!Departs daily at 9:00 a.m.

Go on one of the boat tours such as the glass bottom boat.

Walk through the shops in Avalon and have a romantic dinner.

Golf carts are quite expensive, you might want to rent bikes as they are a healthier alternative. Catalina has an eclectic range of restaurants located along Crescent ave and Metropole Market place. Notable are the blue parrot, coyote joe's , landing bar and grille etc. . .
