There is a rental place at Lovers Cove where you can rent snorkeling equipment. The water at Lovers Cove is relatively calm and you could get by with just a mask and snorkel if need be. Fins will allow you to go out deeper into the water, however the fish come into pretty shallow water here. I recommend bringing a few slices of bread to feed the fish (much cheaper than the fish food they will try to sell you). The fish will practically swarm you when you start to feed them!

Have fun!

Absolutely, enjoy the cold waters of Lover's Cove and do not step on any sea urchins!

You should rent (or bring your own) shortie wet suit if you are going to be in the water for any length of time, as you do lose body heat quickly in the cold water.

Also think about "trying" SCUBA diving while you are there.

Divers Supply and others can take you on a Discover SCUBA type dive that allows you experience the great underwater world before becoming a certified diver. They also offer boat snorkelling (minimum age 8 yrs old)(catalinadiverssupply.com/excursions_discover…)

SNUBA (a hose from the surface) is also available at Descanso Beach (past the casino area).

The water outside the inner harbour is clear and full of sea life to see, even snorkelling. ENJOY
