Any pros to staying at Limelight over St Regis other than price? Which has better location? Do both offer service at pool? Spa?
Limelight is nice in a minimalist sort of way in comparison to the Regis. Limelight loughe area is drab and cold IMO. Both are towards the edge of town but Aspen is a small very walkable town in any season. The St. Regis spa is top notch. Not even sure if Limelight has one. It does have a cute little pool. Check out the link below for the Regis awards. Limelight doesn't come close. But for some a bed is a bed and both have good ones.
If you want to spend an evening enjoying what could be the most spectacular meal of your life --and for a large chunk of change -- check out the Chef's Club at the St. Regis.
Both great but night and day difference. Limelight is an old time classic that was renovated by the Aspen Skiing Company a few years ago. As texranger noted, minimalist is the word. Rooms are great. Public area very open and informal. This is not an elegant resort, but very functional, comfortable, convenient. Personally, between the two, I prefer staying at the Limelight.
St. Regis, two blocks away, is ultimate five-star. Everything is elegant. Rooms very, very nice. High level of service. Not too stuffy. I do enjoy staying here if that's what you want.
Decision here really is what you want. If you want a five-star resort/spa and willing to pay the price, stay at St. Regis. If you want a great experience at a funky, recently renovated hidden gem, go with Limelight. But know that they're not at all in the same category of experience.
How do the Residences at Little Nell compare? They are less expensive than Little Nell. Will I feel like I am staying at a hotel or is it far removed from hotel amenities? Thanks!
