US School Holidays for OCT - NOV 2010

I was wondering if anyone can help. Myself and a few friends are planning on a trip to Orlando (DisneyWorld) from Australia in October or November 2010 and was wondering if someone could advise when would be the best time to avoid long lines and school holidays. None of us have ever been to Florida so we are hoping for some advise.

You are asking about Orlando but posted on Altamonte Springs forum. You should post on Orlando forum as it's much busier & you will get questions answered quicker. From Mid-October to end Disney had Mickeys not so scary halloween which can be crowded, especially on weekends and the last week. Early Nov is good. Thanksgiving gets very crowded. So early Oct or early Nov would be best unless you want to see the halloween show which is pretty good. Weather is pretty good then too. Not cold yet, sometimes a little rainy unless we get a tropical storm.

Veteran's Day is on Nov. 11, 2010 This a Federal Gov't Holiday, which is recognized by most state and local governmental authorities (county & city). Most school districts will give this day as a holiday.

Thanksgiving is Nov. 25, 2010 (also a federal holiday). The Friday after Thanksgiving is not a federal holiday but many school districts give it as a holiday for students. The week of Thanksgiving is a high travel period in the USA.
