Tikal

We are visiting Belize in June and are staying at Chan Chich and Victoria House. Victoria house has rather expensive trips to Tikal, but Chan Chich is closer, but their website has no info regarding this. Anyone have any experience with going to Tikal from Chan Chich?

If you can get into San Ignacio, PACZ Tours offers excellent trips to Tikal. Normally they pick you up free at your hotel in town, but not way back from the jungle lodges...

Neither place is really a good jumping off point for Tikal. It's only about 2 hours by road from San Ignacio but your 2 lodging choices are in other areas. Could you visit Tikal in between those 2 stays or fly between BZE and Flores for a visit before you head home?

Chan Chich is only closer as the bird flies, but not as the road goes. Neither of your hotels of choice are cheap places from which to reach Tikal. As AvianQuest suggests, a Cayo lodge would be your best bet to do Tikal at a better price.

Since you will most likely transfer to and from CC by charter flight, you can either fly to Flores/Tikal from Belize Intl and back on regularly scheduled flights or ask the charter to drop you or pick you up in San Ignacio in Cayo and travel to or from Tikal by road from there.

One day Tikal from Guatemala City is $299 with Clark tours using a domestic airline for the 45 minute flight to Flores. Taca airlines flies into Flores too. Perhaps flying TACA to guatemala and then to Flores getting a local tour to Tikal would be less expensive. There are also bus tours from Guatemala city but they take 7 hrs to get there.

Thank you all for the help, seems like the best way to go is Tropic Air out of San Pedro.
