Christmas Day and New Year's Eve

If anyone has ever spent Christmas Day or New Year's Eve in Belize or Roatan, can you please suggest the best places to be for festivities (in both places) on those holidays....thx!

I live in Belize.

Ambergis Caye might be the best place -- always seems to be a lot happening there, although many places are closed on Christmas Day.

Be prepared for fireworks, LOTS of fireworks, beginning about a week before Christmas.

Placencia is also a great place to be on Christmas and almost everything is open, us the locals are up until morning celebrating so it's a lot of fun. Great bars and restaurants and a lot of places to choose from.

Yes, Black Cats are heard around the clock around Christmas. Always bring ear plugs, and have a great time.
