Traveling to Belize in July..looking of home base.

We just booked out flights for July 4-13. We are struggling with best places to stay. We were at first excited about Chabil Mar in Placencia but then thought it might be a bit too remote and less occupied that time of year. We are not ones to like to pack up and move every few days. Is there a more central place accessible to many activities that we can set up a home base in for the nine days. We've looked at rentals and resorts, any input would be appreciated.

Placencia and Hopkins are ideal for beach with easy access to mainland trips; Placencia will be the more active of the two and Chabil Mar is close to the village. Ambergris Caye would be more socially active and closer to the reef, but further from mainland
