Cave tubing or caving?

Where is the best place to go caving (walking through and not tubing), or is that even possible? Where is the best place to go cave tubing? We aren't renting a vehicle, so will need to stay somewhere we can be picked up. We prefer to stay outside Belize City. We are currently staying on Caye Caulker.

Cave tubing on the Caves Branch River; shorter float is off the Western Hywy and longer float off the Hummingbird and you can overnight right at the lodge of the same name, which also offers much more interesting cave trips than the recreational, and fun, tubing. cavesbranch.com

We also did a caving/waterfall hike that was about 6km total through the caves branch and our resort (Sleeping Giant). I would completely recommend for a couple or family. Tubing seemed fun also, but we didn't do that excursion.

Lots of adventurous options here:

The most popular (because it's amazing) caving option is the ATM cave trip; we went with Pactz Tours:

Here's another great one, rarely visited:

We also enjoyed Chechem Ha.

My photos with blog and travelogue links on the main page of each collection are below in case you're interested - Chechem Ha in 2003, ATM in 2009, Actun Chapat in 2012. Happy trails!

You could also search for Mountain Cow cave - I've heard that's a great trip.

Caves Branch rocks. They have the Waterfall Cave, which is amazing. You'll love it. ATM is the most visited cave, and it's ok too.
