Reef shoes...to pack or not?

Would you bother taking them?

I'm of to Belize and Central America for 3 months and will spend a fair chunk of that on beaches,do i really need to pack reef shoes?they are fairly heavy and take up space...

Would you take them?

I take Keen Newport H2Os and flipflops - that combination works for everything for me every summer when I visit Central America, usually 4-6 weeks, but 10 or 11 weeks this year.
