Need help, where to go in Belize?

I am have friends, late 20's, husband and wife no kids, who want to go to Belize, I have no advice to offer, can anyone suggest where in Belize and which hotels they would recommend? They went to Costa Rica last year, and just returned from England for the holidays (he is British she is from the U.S0. They like to have fun, did zip lining, mud baths and volcano viewing in CR.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Oh my goodness, thank you thank you for all of that wonderful information! I did read one of your blogs earlier and actually brought your name up to a client of mine who is a Principal and her daughters have done/are doing semester abroads...her one daughter was in Costa Rica last year and they all traveled to Guatamala as well, so I thought your background is quite interesting.

I really appreciate all your information! I will be following your blogs, they are very interesting!

They'd probably want to split it up between beach, like Placencia, and inland jungle, like Cayo. Check out http://bestofcayo.com for places in Cayo, and the Placencia Breeze for ideas there. Be sure and check out TA too.
