40th birthday trip

I'm looking to treat myself to a Thursday-Monday trip for my 40th birthday, traveling with 1 or 2 girlfriends. I live in Houston and am looking for somewhere that's a fairly easy direct reasonably priced flight so I can make the most of my trip. While I do want to 'chill' on a beach, pool bar for a day to relax, the other things Belize has to offer sound fun too. I'm not a diver, not even sure if I'm a snorkler. But I love animals, zip lining sounds adventurous, not a big shopper but definitely an eater/drinker...I just want to make the most out of my 40th bday. Looking to travel end if April or beginning of May. There seem to be so many choices on area to stay, where to stay, things to do...Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

sounds like the Cayo district is the place for you. It's an adventurous district to visit in Belize...has the Maya Ruins, Ziplining adventure, rivers and plenty of choices for eating and drinking.

Yeah, definitely do Cayo and Placencia, or a caye. Cayo is the spot for all the terrestrial excursions like waterfalls, hiking ruins, caves, etc, and Placencia, is mellow, and great for that beach time.

Inside joke here: if you miss Astroworld, take the bus. The drivers give a thrill ride sometimes, haha.
