Coco beach or El Secreto in Ambergris

My husband and I are deciding if we should spend our time at Coco Beach or El Secreto hotel in Ambergris. We'll be there the beginning of July, for 4 nights. Is it convenient to get from Coco beach to downtonn area? Please advise. Thank you in advance.

I don't know much about El Secreto. It looks lovely, obviously designed for those who just want to relax and be pampered. 11 miles north is a long ways on Ambergris.

Coco Beach is about three miles north. The regular water taxi comes by multiple times a day, plus, the resort owned water taxi company makes runs as well. Getting to town wouldn't be hard. In fact, during the day it's a pleasant walk or bike ride.

The pools at Coco Beach are awesome. The one unit I've been in was very nice.

I'm guessing the two properties would give you two different types of stays.

Two very different experiences. El Secreto is far north, remote, high end, small and too far from town to pop in and out. CCB is one of the largest condo hotels, about 3 miles north of town and close enough for water taxi as desired
