Flight into Ambergris

This may sound like a silly question, but I'm looking into a trip in 2015 to Belize and I have tried searching for a variety of flights on a variety of websites (kayak, expedia, etc) into San Pedro from Washington DC and it says there are none available! How do you book a flight to Ambergris Caye? Is there another site that I need to look into? Just trying to get a ballpark idea of prices over different dates. Thanks!!

Your international flight will land in Belize City (actually a few miles away in Ladyville). Airport code is BZE.

From there, you take a 15 flight on either Tropic Air or Maya Island Air to San Pedro. You can also take a water taxi from Belize City, 20 minute cab ride, then 75-90 minute boat ride.

Are we allowed to fly with any liquor we buy at the duty free in Belize City??

Any liquor will have to go into your checked baggage. Also, realize the planes are very small. Your small roller bags that you can carry onto the jets will have to be checked to get to Ambergris. So, pack your valuables accordingly.

Duty free liquor needs to go in checked bags so leave a bit of room for your purchases. Consider bring a large size Ziploc bag or two to put your liquor in. On a trip to the states once some hot sauce broke in tacoboys luggage and thankfully due to packing it well, not a drop got on his clothing.
