places to sit back drink and eat

Looking for the best places to sit back drink a few beers, eat some simple food and relax. Any ideas?

If you like nachos or burritos, check out BC's beach bar. Just north of Ramon's.

Tackle Box has some good sandwiches, in the center of town, out on a dock.

I'm not sure if Playa Lounge has food or not, has overstuffed lounging couches to watch the world go by.

Fidos has great burgers and the street vendors have good yard bird.

Yeah, La Playa Lounge is the spot for kicking back - on huge lounges - and watching the waves. They had appetizers when I was there last.

Number one choice, hands down, Palapa Bar. Built on stilts over the water (so awesome view), famous for their rum punch as well as fully stocked bar. Smoke house on site for yummy pulled pork sandwiches (get the side of beans and put them on your sandwich too) and great burgers. Also a plus. You can float in inner tubes in the water, and they will lower buckets of beer/ or your drinks of choice to you. Located just one mile north of bridge, a great place to spend an entire afternoon sitting back, drinking, eating, enjoying the breeze and enjoying the views. For evening, I do like BC's bar, interesting crowd of locals, expats and tourists, and good nachos and burritos. Charlene (the owner is thinking of expanding her menu) but not sure yet. You can check out both places on the web or on their facebook pages!

Palapa bar gets our vote. Stopped in for lunch one day and stayed all afternoon. Great food and friendly people. Island ferry or water taxis will transport you to and or from. Also a nice bikeride from town.

when we were there, last week, looked like Playa was shut. Too bad since we wanted to go there.

Crazy Canucks had live music, was OK, and Wild Mango's had good food and a nice ambiance.

Palapa Bar is a bit of a hassle to get to (north of town via water taxi, golf cart, or bike), but worth it for great atmosphere.

Waraguma in town is a dive, but the best burritos and food for the money.

Wild Mango is the best place we found for dinner...right on the beach in the middle of town. Hidden Treasure is a close second for the evening atmoshphere alone. Harder to find, but worth it.

Almost any restaurant has good food, atmosphere at reasonable prices. The trade off is a limited menu about anywhere you go. Tough to beat ceviche every meal, and it was great wherever we went.
