Does anyone know the best way to get from San Pedro to Sartenaja on the mainland? How long would it take to get there and how much $?

You could rent a vehicle in Beize City and drive, takes about 2.5 hrs. Or fly from San Pedro to Corozal and arrange a transfer to Sarteneja.

Thunderbolt runs between the island and Corozal. A boat charter direct to Sarteneja would be very expensive, but ask

Hi!

The Thunderbolt Boat will make a stop in Sarteneja from San Pedro, and the cost is $20 US one way. It takes about an hour and a half. We like the Thunderbolt...it is fast and a pretty smooth ride. Contact us if you need more info!

By the way... we LOVE Sarteneja! It is very peaceful and beautiful...

Hello again...

If you want to fly to Sarteneja, you can take Tropic Air for a pretty reasonable price...seems to me that it was around $50 US one way and only takes about 15 minutes to get there from San Pedro!!! There is an airstrip in Sarteneja! However, the airstrip is on the east side of the village, and there are no cabs to get you into town. Honestly...it's quite a walk from the airstrip to the village. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere! The pier for the Thunderbolt is right in the village, though.

Let us know if you have any more questions!
