The Beach at the Phoenix Resort

Thinking of booking a vacation at the Phoenix for a week. My Wife and I are both "Beach Lovers"; not so much for the pool. Does anyone know how the "Beach" is in front of the Phoenix: Is it Wide?; Is it Long if so how long, does it have white soft sand; are there Palm Trees or Papalas for Shade?. Also how is the Ocean Water - Is it Clear, "Calm", and Warm?

There really isn't a beach in front of the Phoenix. There's the property, a strip of sand (where there's foot and bike traffic), a sidewalk, which is also the sea wall.

As much as I would love to stay at the Phoenix, if beach is your priority is a great beach, I'd look somewhere else.

Agreed

Banyan Bay has a nice beach area so does Caribbean Villas both south of town and Ramon's closer to town.

Even if the Phoenix doesn't really have a beach, is there a nice beach somewhere close enough that you could access on foot or golf cart if staying at the Phoenix with small kids?

There's a small patch of beach just north of the Phoenix a bit. Also, the beach in front of Ramon's is awesome, not quite a mile south. Easy walk for adults, short golf cart ride if your kids are little.

Sounds like you have your heart set on San Pedro, but in the event you don't and beach is paramount, there are multiple resorts in Placencia that have nice beaches.

www.placencia.com or tripadvisor reviews can help you decide.
