There are a number of restaurants and food options near Xanadu. I prefer local food and love Antojitos, which is just across the street a very short walk south of the resort. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. A little further south (a 5 minute walk up the beach and then to the road) would be Robin's Kitchen, which is under a road side palapa with tables. He does amazing BBQ and is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. There are resort restaurants in the area including Rico's on the beach, just south, El Divino at Banana Beach, a bit further south and if you want fancy food, there is Palmilla at Victoria House even further south on the beach. I love going there for bar food as the view is fantastic. In the area you'll also find Hidden Treasure. Town is only a short 15 minute bicycle ride from Xanadu, a half hour walk on the beach or a $5 taxi ride and there you're options are extremely varied. Between Xanadu and town in the back streets is a little gem called Casa Picasso, which is fantastic.

If you head north on the beach from Xanadu, Caribbean Villas is the next resort. They have a small beach bar with decent breakfasts and lunches.

Not too much further up the beach is another bar/restaurant at Corona del Mar. Have to confess I haven't eaten there, people say it's good.

On the street there's AJ's for wings in the neighborhood as well as George's Kitchen, which is open for all three meals.

Next place north has Melt, which is open for breakfast and lunch, Crazy Canuck's beach bar, which has paninis and really good fries. There's a restaurant above it called Spice it Up. Never got around to eating there either.

All of these are less than a 15 minute walk from Xanadu.
