Table Rock or Black Rock?

Trying to decide which one. Will likely stay for 2-3 days at one of these two. Won't be leaving the lodge - going to enjoy the jungle and surroundings. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Both great lodges. BRL is in denser jungle on a very scenic portion of the Macal River and further from town with meals served family style. TR is on the outskirts of of a small village about 15 mins from San Ignacio town, on the Macal River, accommodations and meals a bit more upscale.

Thanks for your response! Any thoughts on which might have the best river access for a toddler to splash in?

They are both right on the Macal river. So access isn't really much of an issue, not more than a few minute walk to the river area where you can take a dip. Blackrock felt more secluded, and had a longer ride to get to it.

TRL is known for having some amazingly good food, by the way. Chris, their chef, does some really unique Belizean fusion cuisine.

Interesting.....this is our dilemma right now, too. We are a couple of soft adventurers in their mid/late 50s who want to go river cave tubing and maybe ATM . Can't decide between the two of these lodges plus we're also considering Ian Anderson's Cave Branches lodge. Any more thoughts anyone? Thanks!

I am also trying to decide between these two as well as Mystic River or Caves Branch (although it seems like Caves Branch might be a bit touristy??) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hubby and i chose Caves Branch for our June visit; the all-inclusiveness of the adventure packages and the setting and stellar reviews are what reeled us in; very excited about it! We'll be staying in a Canopy View treehouse.

We didn't get to go to either - both were booked. I would have chosen Table Rock after all based on the excellent and friendly customer service with my inquiries (vs. not-so-friendly from Black Rock) and for Table Rock's reputation for great food.
