Which part of Plancencia?

Currently researching Placencia vacation rentals on vrbo and saw that it is broken down in to several different areas (Placencia Maya Beach, Placencia Village, Placencia Plantation, Placencia Peninsula and Placencia Seine Bight). Can someone please explain what the differences are between these areas and which area is best to stay?

We have stayed at Maya Beach Hotel - very nice cabana - but it is far from everything. If you like to walk in the evenings, there is nothing to do. In Placencia village itself we stayed at Captain Jak’s. Wouldn’t recommend it as it is noisy with dogs and television set next door. We are currently at the Miramar, right on the beach in a studio. It is at the north end of the beach so very quiet at night but still close to the restaurants and everything else you might need. Very nice grocery store up this end and also a nice walk from here along the beach to the Turtle Inn.

Maya Beach is very nice, so you can't go wrong. You can always take a taxi to and from a night or 2. The taxis will gouge you price-wise, but that's just what taxis do. You can walk all around the MB area, and in Placencia proper, just not to and from.

Just got back from Placencia. I would definitely suggest staying somewhere close to town. It gives you the best options for going out without always having to take a cab. There are lots of affordable options for places to stay in town, but for maximum comfort you probably want air conditioning, tv and wi-fi. There is a boardwalk with lots of places to stay along the boardwalk. Good luck!
