Notes when booking domestic flights on NatureAir and Sansa

Be forewarned! Make sure their is AT LEAST 2 hrs between your SJO arrival/departure flights and the domestic flight.

I have to eat $400 worth of flights on both arriving and leaving the country because their was only an hour between my incoming and outgoing flights.

They don't tell you this anywhere on there web sites (how about including 1 sentence on your booking form noting this!) and their tickets are non-refundable. And don't even think about asking their customer service to work with you.

And if you're traveling with a Surfboard:

1. they have both length restrictions.

2. NatureAir has a sleazy policy that your board ISN'T GUARANTEED TO TRAVEL ON YOUR FLIGHT, which is ONLY NOTED in their fine print. So if it doesn't you'll have to choose between missing your connecting flight OR leaving your surfboard! Plus the gouge you on the price $40!

I would suggest a much longer mimimum than 2 hours, I'd feel better with 3-4 at the very least, especially for the flight home and especially for Nature Air which is a good 20-30 minute drive away from the Int'l airport. This is why mostly all guide books suggest overnighting the night before in a hotel. Any extra bagagge is considered standby, this is pretty common as the small planes can only carry so much weight and have so much room.

I think those policies are pretty clear on their website. Those planes are small and really made for handling people and a specific weight of luggage before additional allowances can be made. Int'l flights suggest arriving 3 hours before your flight, and good luck checking in for an Int'l flight in any country if you cut it as close as an hour.

Midori mentioned another important difference between those two airlines. Sansa is very close to the SJ International Airport (you can walk to it), but Nature Air is about a 30 minute taxi ride away, so you have to make sure you allow time for that as well.
