traveling with teen boys for graduating

What would be best beach city in Costa Rica for 18 year old boys? Traveling with us (parents), and also want to be near other things to do, like white eater rafting and ziplines.

Depends on the time of year but a split trip between Arenal Volcano and Manuel Antonio is full of options. Lots of activities everyone can enjoy.

Let us know when you are thinking and more will chime in with some thoughts.

Maybe nice can be...arriving SJO and drive to Arenal Volcano...great place to be with the kids...a lot of fun soft adventure tours....kids will love it...great zip lines...hot springs...horse back ride tours...waterfalls...an many nice hotels , good food...just shop around!

Then drive to Manuel Antonio National Park...nice for wild life...a lot of nice monkies...birds ...sloths...nice easy hikes...nice beaches...good surf...just common sense at the beaches and ask how safe they may be!

Or from Arenal drive to any Guanacaste beach...like Tamarindo...that is another place good for young kids!

If you only have time for one beach area, I'd suggest flying into Liberia and going to Tamarindo (my favorite hotel is Hotel Captain Suizo). If you have time to do two areas I agree with above, you could go to La Fortuna and Tamarindo (fly into LIR) or you could do La Fortuna and Manuel Antonio (fly into San Jose-SJO). In one week, 2 locations is great. The kids (and you) will love all the fun things to do in La Fortuna like rapelling down waterfalls, white water river rafting, beautiful hikes in the National Parks...so much to do to keep a teenager (and parents) happy! :-)

Head for La Fortuna and a beach destination, if coming between August-October, the Caribbean side of CR would be a great option, lot to see and do for everyone around the Puerto Viejo area.
