Love the Osa Peninsula. Fly into Puerto Jimenez. Bosque del Cabo can only be described as heaven on earth!

Well first I think and hope you are having a rental car... Will make it easy to get to less touristic places.

Instead of the major famous parks go to less famous and more remote such as la amistad and barbilla park.. with beaches if you in the area of Puerto viejo try to stay at punta uva beach.. if you take the Cass Robinson you will have your own hidden place.. just Google the place ...

In addition maybe the Wilson Botanical Garden/Las Cruces Biological Station and the town of San Vito de Coto Brus.

Also San Gerardo Rivas, this town also has plenty activities to do.

Oh and last thing, if u want to feel more remote try to go during rain season.. we did it and it was worth it! Less people .. more wildlife and also cheaper

Enjoy your time there

Not a beach, but I also really like Cartago. Totally 'Non-Tourist'. The weather is cooler, the area in General is beautiful and you can visit Lankester Botanical Gardens. Very nice!

I seem to recall a church there that has some great history to it.....
