Sugar beach or flamingo beach resort?

Any suggestion? Which have better rooms and breakfast? Need to spend 4 nights in last week of nov. Should I split nights? Planning for some ATV, diving, snorkeling , kayaking. Will be active and on the beach mostly and not in the room much. Though like some privacy and better location & beach.

Any help will be great!

My personal preference would be the Flamingo Beach Resort, nice rooms and nice beach. Sugar beach might offer more privacy

Sugar Beach is a great place with a beautiful beach but a bit more remote than Flamingo Beach Resort.

MikeA always recommends Flamingo Beach Resort so I'm not sure what's going on there.

I would check each of the websites - they both have really good ones. Then check the Trip Advisor reviews and see what you think.

Two very different hotels in very different surroundings. The resort is close to Flamingo town itself so you can easily walk in for dinner and drinks. Overall it's much busier, and popular with those on package holidays and families-there's a big pool with dozens of loungers, and a short walk across the road to a big beach with fair sized waves.

Not much in the way of snorkeling in either area, but at the resort you are right on site for diving departures to the Catalina Islands, and Pacific Coast diving are based at the resort.

Sugar Beach has a smaller, much more secluded and sheltered beach, and the hotel is pretty isolated meaning you will need transportation to get anywhere. Also better kayaking with much calmer water. Popular with couples looking for privacy and seclusion. Small pool with a few loungers.

Best option for snorkeling from either location would be one of the sailing tours. Again, better located for departures in Flamingo but transportation is usually provided.

Dear Sajj

Totally agree with Hatiie...Great advice by Simon...Gracias!

If you can split your time...I do a lot of Sea Kayaking from La Penca around Sugar beach all the way to Guacamaya beach...it is maybe a couple hours...some of the best sea kayaking in that part of the country...since some mountains cover most of the beaches from strong winds!

Flamingo beach is nice the Hotel Flamingo is way to old...and it shows...just check some recnet reviews...

Sugar beach...offer some incredible ocean views...!

What ever you do...for your own good deal with tour operators or Travel Agencies...certified by Costa Rica Government..
